Hero Vegas Security Guard Disappears, Then Re-Emerges Days Later On ‘Ellen’ With New Info

Questions surround Stephen Paddock’s brutal Las Vegas Strip massacre. Thankfully, the Mandalay Bay security guard who may hold some of the answers has finally broken his silence.

Jesus Campos was working a normal shift. He noticed nothing on unusual when he responded to a routine call to check up on an open door near Paddock’s suite. What happened next has been the subject of intense debate.

“As I was walking down, I heard rapid fire, and at first I took cover,” Campos told Ellen Degeneres.

“I felt a burning sensation. I went to go lift my pant leg up and I saw the blood. That’s when I called it in on my radio that shots have been fired.”

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department and MGM Resorts disagree about when Campos was shot. Their highly public dispute birthed dozens of conspiracy theories.

Investigators first claimed that Campos was shot AFTER Paddock showered the Route 91 Harvest festival with bullets. Next, they claimed that the security guard was injured six minutes BEFORE the slaughter began.

Now? LVMPD officials have tentatively said that Campos was attacked less than a minute before Paddock began spraying the crowd from his 32nd-floor window.

MGM’s story never wavered. They’ve insisted that there was almost no lag between when Campos was hit and when Paddock started firing.

Campos himself, however, has been feeding the conspiracy theorists. After the shooting, he suddenly canceled multiple media appearances and hid away. Reporters began claiming that he was “missing.” His appearance on Ellen is his first since the disaster.

“You being shot in the leg saved so many people’s lives,” DeGeneres said. “We just wanted to celebrate you.”
