MSNBC Host Wants to Know Why Trump’s Female Staffers Don’t Just ‘Walk Out’ of White House

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace wondered aloud Friday why female members of President Donald Trump’s staff aren’t leaving the White House en masse.

Wallace asked the question amid the ongoing controversy over former White House staff secretary Rob Porter’s ouster following allegations of domestic abuse. In response to his resignation, Trump said, “We wish him well. He worked very hard.”

“Where are the women?” the MSNBC anchor asked. “Why don’t they walk out en masse? I know they feel picked on. … But why don’t you walk out? Why don’t they leave?”

Wallace, who served as an aide to former President George W. Bush, isn’t alone in asking such questions. HLN host and conservative commentator S.E. Cupp took to Twitter on Friday night to make a similar statement.

Cupp advised every female staffer, regardless of rank, to “stay home” until an investigation has been conducted, ensuring the White House is “a safe work environment”:

On Thursday, White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah admitted the administration “could have done better over the … last few days in dealing with this situation.” Politico reported chief of staff John Kelly knew Porter would be denied a security clearance.
