Even though Trump is now the President, he is continuing his feud with Mark Cuban. At first Cuban supported Trump, however, down the road he completely changed his mind, perhaps he just wants to look good for his liberal friends. In an interview Cuban started by defending Steph Curry who insulted Trump.
After Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank said that President Trump is an asset to the United States, basketball superstar Steph Curry responded “I agree with the description, if you remove the ‘et’ from asset.” He said this even though he endorses Under Armour.
“I’m proud of Steph for standing up for what he believes in. It’s a tough situation for CEOs.cYou want to make nice with the president because you’re a public company and you have shareholders, and it’s hard to balance doing the right financial thing versus doing what they think is the right thing, whatever your political beliefs are. It’s not an easy position to be in,” said Mark Cuban about Steph Curry.
Cuban recently said that he doesn’t think Trump will “last four years.” “In the bigger scheme of things, our country benefits from peaceful activism a lot more than it benefits from one more shoe being sold, or one more basketball ticket being sold, for that matter. The people that say stay away from politics are the people that are looking for politics,” said Cuban.
Trump responded and his response was epic. While Cuban pretends to be above it all, President Trump put him back in his place. “I know Mark Cuban well. He backed me big-time but I wasn’t interested in taking all of his calls. He’s not smart enough to run for president!” tweeted President Trump in response.
